Here they are...

First pic is when they were cold and the second is when they were done!!!

What a week!!!

Seriously....what a week...and its only Wednesday!!! It started out really bad with a one and done loss from my Packers. Those effers looked like they had forgot how to play football. I think that the days of playing at the Frozen Tundra being an advantage are long gone. It's COLD up there!!! I don't see how anyone can play well in it. Oh well, it is what it is.

Due to my limited sleep Sunday morning I crashed hard and early Sunday night. This was good tho because I got up before 7am and got looking online for something to do with the kids. I was sooooo excited when I saw that the museums were all free for MLK Day. I called up my girlfriend Nikki and the two of us headed up to the Museum of Science and Industry with 6 kids!!! Call us crazy cause we kinda are!!! We were there all day and it was a blast. The kidos loved the storm area and the baby chicks hatching.

Side note---Adults, when you are at the museum please be mindful that there are small children who are fascinated with all of the exhibits....please for the love of all things good....do not ever let me see you push a child out of the way so your greedy @$$ can see closer!!!! Yes this happened!!! Can you believe the nerve of some people!!! Ugg maybe I am just not like that because I have kids, but come on.

Anyway....we left the museum and the rain had started. We ended up stuck in some pretty crappy traffic so we got off at 83 and headed out to dinner at Nikki's McDonalds. Man were the kids excited!!! Little did they know more fun was in store. After letting them play for about an hour we packed them all up and headed out. It was off to the movies for us.

Since there were so many of us we opted for the cheap theater....0.75 cents a ticket....can't go wrong with that. Mckena and Bre had never been to a movie before, so they were soooooo excited. All went great and Happy Feet 2 was super cute. Will definitely have to start doing that some more.

After the movie I took the kids home and put em to bed. Nikki and Lisa came over and we watched "The Help" and "I don't know how she does it." The Help was good, no where near the book, but when are they ever? The other one was ok....really slow going I thought.

So yeah Monday was a super long day!!!

On Tuesday I had a meeting at work and found out that the sups and managers will be switching around their schedules a bit. I was really nervous to see what I would end up with. I almost pooped on myself when I got my copy......Starting next week this girl will have Saturday's and Sunday's off!!! I am sooooo excited!!!! I will still be on the night shift (11p-7:30a), but I will have epic days off!!! Chris and Kiegan were just as excited!!! I can't wait to get to spend the extra time with the family!!!

Well, I suppose I should try to do something productive....till next time...

The Help....

Along with all of my other goals for the year I forgot to mention that I want to start reading on a regular basis again. Thursday I decided that it was time and I started in on The Help by Kathryn Stockett. What a good book and the perfect day to finish it on!!! It was a nice smooth read that had me smiling and crying at points. If you are a reader and have not read this one yet...do it. I don't think that you will regret it. Thinking about redboxing the movie tonight, although I know it will not compare to the book (they never do).

Yumm!!!

Dinner was a hit!!! White Chicken Enchiladas...I'll try to remember to post the link to the recipe tomorrow...for now it's time to try and sneak in a nap.

A long week...

Well, I have obviously started this years blogging out with a bang. Bang in the way that I seriously suck at making time for 5 minutes at the computer. It could possibly have something to do with the fact that I just can not sleep anymore so I am constantly exhausted. And now your all thinking "well if you're exhausted then sleep." I wish it was that easy.

You see, my hubby and I work separate shifts as opposed to spending a billion dollars a month in daycare. This means that we have certain schedules that we have to go buy or we miss out on sleep. I work the overnights and Chris works a mid-shift. A typical good day goes like this....I get off work at 7:30am and am home and in bed by 8. Chris is up already getting Keigan off to school. When it's time for Chris to leave for work he will wake me up to take over with the girls. This is around 1:30pm. I am up then until I get back off work the next morning. If I am lucky and the kids all go to bed like they are supposed to (haha yeah right) then I will take a nap before I have to leave for work. This schedule has been working for years.....not so much the case anymore. I am not sure of the cause, be it the weather, the noise level, or some kind of change in me, but I am UP everyday now between 10:30am and 12pm!!!! Figure it out....that's like no sleep. I try and lay there and fall back asleep, but I am one of those people that when I am up...I am up!!! It's not like I don't want to sleep...trust me it's one of my favorite things to do, I just can't. I am trying lots of things to help me out here, but so far nothing is working. If it keeps up I am going to have to go see a doctor...there is no way I can keep going like this.

So what do I do when I can't sleep you ask...? Well, thanks to cousin Tara I have developed a small addiction with Pintrest. Ok, maybe small is not the word!!! I frickin LOVE it!!! It is (in the words of my besty Laura) a huge time suck!! She is not kidding. I will go on there and find myself an hour later still hitting "more pins". I am an addict. If you have never been on Pinterest it's kind of like an online idea box for adults. There are soooo many amazing things on there. I am pretty sure that if I bring up one more project idea that I obtained from my addiction my co-workers may kill me. I was actually telling everyone last night that I need to find a way to quit my job so that I can stay home and just try out everything that I see. I will try to update my blog whenever I complete a "pinterst" of mine (one is in the oven as I type).

So how about the temperature today? Ridiculous!!!! Ok, not really complaining....I love that it was in the 50's today...since I was awake so early I had the opportunity to clean out my mess of a van. The kids and the dog joined me outside and man did they have a blast. I took some pics that I will try and get posted and and a video too. They are calling for snow tomorrow so I am glad we got out for a few hours to curb some of the cabin fever that has been creeping up on us all.

As far as my goals for this year.....I suck at going to the gym (I am blaming it on the lack of sleep), but I am rocking the house stuff. Work messed up our checks this month, so the budget is not quite done right, but it's a work in progress. I have been cooking homemade meals daily...a nice change if I do say so myself, and I have been keeping up on the dishes and the housework!!! I am so excited....feel like I am slowly making the changes that I had hoped for this year.

Well, my "pinterest" in the oven just got done so it's off to feed the muchkins...I'll let you know how it turns out!!!

p.s-going to use my exhaustion as an excuse for poor grammar and spelling!!! Sorry!!!
